2006 in Review
The Boys varsity team advanced to
the semi finals in their bid for state champion - defeating last
year's state champion, Parkview, 4-2 in round one and during the
regular season defeating this years #1 ranked team.
The Girls varsity team gained 6 wins this season. The Girls JV team
defeated Clark Central 6-0, and the Boys JV team gained 6 wins.
Fast Facts Boys
- Reached semi-finals of the state playoffs for the 3rd time
in the last 5 years.
- Finished ranked 4th in the state.
- Chris Ugarte, Sam Vojdani, and Chad Davis were nominated to play
in the Divarsity Senior All-Star game. Chris scored a goal in that
game.
- Chris Ugarte was nominated for Gwinnett Soccer player of the year.
- Chris Ugarte received a soccer scholarship to Perimeter College.
- Chad Davis received a soccer scholarship to Piedmont College.
- There are now 9 former DHS boys soccer players playing soccer in
college.
- Co-captains Cesar Contreras, Sam Vojdani, and Chris Ugarte made
the All-Gwinnett County team.
- Sam Vojdani received the Presidential Scholarship from GA Tech.
- We beat the #1 ranked team in the state, Chattahoochee H.S.
- We finished the season with a record of 15-4-2.

- Katie Schraudenbach nominated to play in the DiVarsity Senior
All-star game
- Katie Schraudenbach recieved a scholarship to Winthrop University
in South Carolina.
- Maggie Megaro received a scholarship to Middle Georgia
- There are currently 5 former female Duluth soccer players playing
at the college level.
- Co-Captain Katie Schraudenbach was named to the All-County team
- Melissa Sweeney was named the Scholar athlete of the year for
Duluth.
- Former DHS player, Emily Bender, was named Honorable Mention
All-American for Berry College and an Academic All-American this
past fall soccer season.
